Although I can’t believe it, this website has been on the Internet for 26 years as of August 8, 2024!

I started working on the five-page site in July 1998 just before the opening of “Dance With Me” (Amazon Ad). The movie starring Chayanne and Vanessa Williams premiered in theaters on August 21, 1998.

I named the site Solamente Tu Amor, as it was one of my favorite songs and seemed like a good name for dedicated Chayanne fans. Later on, when we needed a domain name, we chose Chayfans as an abbreviation of Chayanne and fans.

Solamente Tu Amor was the first Chayanne fan site that was in English and Spanish. Many of the fans that found the site were mesmerized by Chayanne’s performance in the movie Dance With Me and wanted to know more.

Back in 1998, there were not many websites about Chayanne. Having been a Chayanne fan since I first heard “Fiesta en America” in 1988 and also having some experience building a website, I wanted to build a fan-created website for Chayanne. I never expected it to get as big as it did, and that was overwhelming at times.

I am also looking for someone who is fluent in Spanish and English to check that everything is written correctly in Spanish. Please leave a comment here if you would be willing to help with the site. There is a lot that needs to be updated, in particular the biography page.
