For all you latin lovers–Elmer Figueroa de Arce aka Chayanne–will be performing next Thursday at The Toyota Center. I know Chayanne from his first English-speaking role in the movie Dance With Me, opposite Vanessa Williams. But I also know him through a little thing called six degrees of separation, actually one. You know how they say we’re all connected to everyone by only six other people.
Well two years ago I was a limousine driver…for like two months. Anyway, the last time Chayanne was in Houston I unknowningly chaffeured his manager to the Doubletree Hotel downtown. His manager only told me he was the manager once we were close to the hotel, I suppose for security reasons. But I did actually stand about three-feet away from Chayanne himself while waiting for the manager at Bush Intercontiental Airport. Chayanne’s smile was even more beautiful up close and personal…
